GTA Trilogy remaster is real, and it’s coming to Nintendo Switch

Rockstar has confirmed that the GTA Trilogy remaster is the end of this year, featuring HD remaster from Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The official title of compilation is ‘Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition’, and will bring Remaster from the GTA Rockstar game for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X / S series, PC, and may be surprising, Nintendo Switch.

The game will also come to iOS and Android in the first half of 2022, even though we are still waiting for prices and release dates.

The fact of this game comes to Nintendo Switch and Mobile must provide indications of how drastically this remaster will become. We did not expect great improvement when it comes to visual games, although remasterers are expected to run on Unreal Engine.

Desperate, Rockstar has not been shared as what technical upgrades we can expect from GTA trilogy, even though we still don’t really know how “perfected” GTA 5 increases Edition for PS5 and the Xbox X series is, well.

We do at least know that the game will display “Upgrade Across-the-Board including graphic improvement and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, while still maintaining the classic look and its original feelings”, according to the Rockstar site.

One other point to note is that Rockstar said it would start “deleting the classic title version of the digital retailer next week”, which is a strange decision, to say the least. This means that for the sake of this preservation, the new GTA Trilogy will be the only way to play digital classic titles moving forward, something that will definitely cause controversy with a puritan video game.

It’s nice that Rockstar released a remaster of the three best Grand Theft auto games (although everyone has their personal favorite). However, waiting for new titles in the series began to become jokes among fans.

GTA 5 is set to be released for the third time in March 2022 and the latest trailer highlighted by fans who claim the game looks “exactly the same”. Presumably, people are tired of hanging out with Franklin, Trevor, and Michael.

GTA 6, meanwhile, reportedly released on 2024/2025, which is not right just around the corner.

However, with GTA Trilogy releasing the nintendo switch, having the potential to reach a new audience who might never experience three best Rockstar titles, such as GTA 3, Vice City, or San Andreas has been released on the Nintendo platform in the past.
