TCL 20S review

TCL 20S review

Two-minute review

TCL 20 is proof that TCL’s approach providing mid-range characteristics and admiral at a budget price price is not simply possible, it looks like other phonetomaties that they do not try strong enough.

The TCL 20 is one of the best combinations of the brand of a quality LCD screen and a refined 6.67-inch design and comes at a very competitive price.

It is also a reasonably powerful phone, also emitting a snapdragon 665 chipset, or 4 GB to 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB or 256 GB of storage (expandible up to 1 to via microSD). Although not exceptional, these specifications are excellent for the price, and the 1920s are easily zippy enough to browse the Internet and suburban media.

Like other TCL phones published in 2021, one of TCL 20S’s most powerful points is its 6.67-inch Full HD plus display, which has a remarkably lively and clear image, often competing or even exceeding the quality of The video on current flagship phones such as Google Pixel 5 and iPhone 12 Pro.

The TCL 20 has a decent camera suite, with a 64 MP main shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide camera to take care of the essential (more depth sensors of 2 MP and 2 MP to help your photograph) . They take sharp pictures, both close up and at longer distances using digital zoom, although darker and more underexposed shots with other phones.

The 5,000 mAh battery is also respectable, although there are other budget phones around which have the same capacity, or larger, such as motorcycle power G. But it is representative of the 20s TCL overall – It’s as good as other phones, but in a very large category, making it an economic handset without several weaknesses.

TCL 20s price and release date

After being announced in April 2021, the TCL 20S exit date was 20 May in some areas. While TCL sells the 1920s on its store in the United States, it is not clear where it is sold in other countries because the phone is not listed on its British or UA stores, for example.

The 20S TCL award starts at $ 249 (about 180 £ / 345 €) for the 4GB and 128 GB storage version. Although we know, it is a 6 GB storage version slightly greater than 6 GB and 256 GB (and have seen lists of such), it is difficult to know what the official TCL pricing is intended for this configuration.

Design

The 20S TCL design has been refined on its predecessors and looks more like a mid-range phone than a budget device. In 199g, it’s not light, but many flagship phones are heavier.

It is on the largest part of the smartphone spectrum with a 6.67 inches display, which has notable glasses but not excessively large. The rear lid is plastic and feels made of plastic, but has a matte finish for a simpler look.

The camera block at the top left of the back is long and thin, with four lightened lenses vertically – it is the only feature at the back of the phone apart a TCL logo at the bottom left. Sandwich between the front and rear envelopes, the phone’s plastic side rim has a chrome appearance for a more refined look.

The phone has a wide lock button in the middle of the right side that also serves as a fingerprint scanner, and it’s a quick flash of print recognition. It is convenient to reach, located about where the thumb rests when the phone is held in the right hand, which means that the volume switches just above the lock button is a little more difficult to reach.

On the left side, there is a button that summons Google Assistant, although unfortunately, it is not customizable – we would much prefer a function button that can be set to a shortcut to open applications or other features. At the bottom of the phone, there is a USB-C port in the center with speaker grids on each side, while on the top is a 3.5mm headphone jack on the left and a microphone on the right.
