Cannot access Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp? Feel Deja Vu? Facebook services have dropped for some more, following a six-hour outage earlier this week which break down the applications and services of companies around the world.
Fortunately, this blackout seems far more broadly – TechRadar has been able to access Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, so we rely on outsiders to determine how many users are affected. Downdetector, for example, reports a surge in blackout report starting at 2:30 ET, but has declined since – and even at the peak only a small portion of the number reported earlier this week. Facebook recognizes blackouts in tweets at 3:22 ET:
Blackouts may have been repaired, per tweet from Reporter New York Times Mike Ishak, and reportedly caused by ‘configuration change’ – which took all services on Monday. (Facebook claims that today’s blackouts are not related to the earlier this week, per previous tweet asaac.)
The previous blackout was extended with certain circumstances that locked further changes from being made and needed a more dramatic improvement from rushing the team to the California data center to make changes to the location, as reported.
It is not clear whether the same cause and improvement is needed, but the blackout certainly lacks impact. Facebook has warned that services will take time to stabilize, per time New York.
